Release Notes - Zoom Panel

👍 Zoom in to the Zoom Panel
Zooming and panning while annotating an asset can consume a lot of time depending on the complexity of the task. With the Zoom Panel, those zooming and panning controls allow for a seamless annotation experience.
Making it possible to adjust, create, and review annotations while maintaining a full view of the asset provides advantages beyond simple efficiency. Conversely, zooming in allows for precision across all objects, and combining both aspects results in the best of both worlds.
What's changing
The Zoom Panel introduces a new element to the annotation workspace, providing a new Zoom subtool in addition to new functionality when creating a shape. When using the Zoom tool, or after selecting any shape tool, a new window will appear within the annotation workspace.
This window will show the area immediately around your mouse cursor, anywhere it is placed on the canvas.
Interacting with the Zoom Panel
The Zoom Panel is, primarily, an automatic interaction. It will appear as necessary when a shape tool is selected. It can, however, also be opened manually, useful for Review or QA workloads. Opening the Zoom Panel is as easy as selecting the Zoom tool, then choosing the Zoom Panel subtool:
📘 Note
The Zoom Panel can also be opened by using its shortcut combination - SHIFT + Z
The level of zoom applied in the panel can be controlled through the workspace's View Settings panel, with three levels of precision that can be applied:
These zoom levels are
- 0.5x which provides 1/2 the maximum level of zoom within the open panel
- 1x which provides 3/4 of the maximum level of zoom within the open panel
- 2x which provides the maximum level of zoom within the open panel
Clicking these different levels will immediately change the intensity of the zoom experience in the Zoom Panel. The Zoom Panel will also automatically reposition if your mouse cursor is placed around the open panel.
Closing the Zoom Panel is the same as closing any other tool – simply hit the ESC key on your keyboard.
