Region of Interest
Updated at February 17th, 2025
💡Easily focus on specific objects with precision
The Region of Interest (ROI) feature allows you to adjust the camera field of view and distance, making it easier to isolate and focus on specific objects in your 3D space. This enables more accurate annotations and helps you zoom in on key details that were harder to pinpoint before.
You can now focus on a specific section of your 3D point cloud based on the selected 2D output. This enhancement makes it easier to identify objects and improve spatial awareness across the entire scene.

Overview
Previously, users had the ability to color the point cloud based on camera distance, but the process lacked precise control over specific areas of interest. There was no way to seamlessly integrate camera field of view adjustments with point cloud visualization. This feature was needed to provide more control and flexibility, allowing users to focus on smaller regions within their 3D point cloud and improve accuracy when identifying objects. By combining both the camera field of view and distance, the "Region of Interest" feature enhances precision and streamlines the annotation process.
What's new?
This feature helps the user focus on specific areas of the 3D point cloud, using the 2D video output as a reference. It reduces cognitive noise around the image and allows the user to focus on a particular area of interest needed to annotate.
Full Point Cloud View (No Emphasis)
In this example, both Camera Field of View and Camera Distance are disabled, allowing the entire point cloud to be visible, and when zooming in on the 2D frame, there is no emphasis on any specific section of the point cloud.

Focused Point Cloud with Adjustable Range
In this example, when Camera Field of View and Camera Distance are enabled, the point cloud is adjusted to match the zoomed-in section of the 2D image. This functionality also works without Camera Distance enabled, but when Camera Distance is activated, it defines a range of frames, displaying the point cloud from the current frame up to the specified frame.
